Time to register for the Treasures of the Gulf Coast TLA District 8 Fall Conference. It takes place next weekend. October 30, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at Clear Brook High School, located at 4607 FM 2351, Friendswood, TX 77546. The Conference Luncheon Speaker is Gwendolyn Zepeda.
Vendor registration is still open.
I'm sorry I'll have to miss it, I do enjoy the meeting every year. However, this year I'll be at a Tweetup for the shuttle launch at Cape Canaveral. A once in a lifetime opportunity.

Hosted Library Systems
What issues are important in a hosted library system? Beyond price and up-time that is. Ones that come to my mind are:
- Ability to handle MARC authority recordsZ39.50 or sru/srw searching, the ability for a searcher to download a MARC recordStable, short URLs for each recordRDA complaint
